About Play Ball!

"SNY PLAY BALL! is back and giving you the opportunity to receive a $5,000 grant for your youth baseball or softball league! In 2012, SNY will award grants to six non-profit leagues with players ages 6-12 that demonstrate a need for financial assistance. SNY will also feature each league during an episode of the network's Emmy-Award winning children's show Kids Clubhouse. Award-winning leagues will also be invited to a Mets game at Citi Field and recognized on-air during the television broadcast of the game.


In 2011, we awarded six leagues throughout the tri-state area with grants that were used for new uniforms, equipment, field maintenance costs, participant enrollment costs, scoreboard repair, and umpire fees.


We want to hear the story of your league! 2012 applications will be accepted online or by mail beginning on December 15, 2011.
