About Play Ball!Now in its third year, SNY PLAY BALL! offers your league a chance to receive a $5,000 grant. During the 2013 season, six non-profit youth baseball and softball programs will be selected by SNY to receive $5,000 grants to purchase essential items such as player uniforms and equipment, and to defray costs such as entry fees, field maintenance and umpire fees. The 6th and final grant recipient will be chosen by a Fan Vote on SNY's Facebook page. In light of the damage Hurricane Sandy caused in the tri-state area, we realize that there are more leagues than ever in need of assistance. We are especially committed to finding the most deserving leagues and helping them get back to playing ball. If your league was affected, or you know of another league that suffered damages, please let us know. By sending a note to snyplayball@genzmarketing.com, we can notify those in need of this grant opportunity. This year, we also moved up the application deadline to accommodate those who need the grants in time for the start of the season. SNY will continue to invite winning leagues to a Mets game at Citi Field and give recognition on-air during the game broadcast and in an episode of SNY's Emmy Award-winning children's program Kids Clubhouse.
