System Requirements FAQ

Before purchasing any multimedia product on SNY.TV, including UConnHuskies.TV, please review our System Requirements. If your system does not meet these requirements, you will not be able to use our products and/or will not receive the highest quality video stream.

  2. UConnHuskies.TV Recommended Profiles

    UConnHuskies.TV runs in most current Internet browsers and operating systems. To watch UConnHuskies.TV video content, you need Adobe Flash Player 10 (or above) installed on your computer. See Section 3. Flash Player Requirements for more information. Some features may be limited or unavailable if you are running a configuration that is not recommended. The following profiles are recommended for a standard UConnHuskies.TV experience. Note: If your computer is more than approximately three (3) years old, then you may experience technical difficulties when attempting to access UConnHuskies.TV video.

    Windows Minimal Profile:

    Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003 Intel® Pentium® 4 2.33GHz (or equivalent) 256MB 64MB Internet Explorer 6.x (or higher), Firefox 2.x (or higher), Google Chrome 11.x (or higher), or AOL 9 Adobe Flash Player 10 (For better performance we recommend 10.2 or higher), UConnHuskies.TV NexDef for additional features and improved performance.

    Apple Minimal Profile:
    Operating System Processor RAM VRAM Browsers Plug-ins
    OSX 10.4.x, 10.5.x, or 10.6.x PowerPC® G5 1.8GHz or Intel Core® Duo 1.5GHz 512MB 64MB Safari 3.x (or higher), Firefox 2.x (or higher), Google Chrome 11.x (or higher) Adobe Flash Player 10 (For better performance we recommend 10.2 or higher), UConnHuskies.TV NexDef for additional features and improved performance.

    1. Internet Connection: A high speed broadband Internet Connection (Cable, DSL, T1) is required to stream UConnHuskies.TV content.
    2. AOL Users: AOL Version 9 is supported. However, please note that running the AOL environment may consume a substantial amount of the computer's memory and processor, thereby potentially disrupting performance. UConnHuskies.TV does not support AOL versions earlier than Version 9.
    3. 64-Bit Versions of Windows: Adobe Flash Player is not yet compatible with 64-bit Internet browsers. 64-bit versions of Windows have both a 64-bit and 32-bit browser installed. You will need to install Flash Player in the 32-bit browser and use that browser for UConnHuskies.TV.
    4. Other General Settings:
      1. JavaScript turned ON: This is the standard setting for all browsers. The site will not work if JavaScript is turned off.
      2. Cookies enabled: This is the standard setting for all browsers. If cookies are disabled, you may encounter login errors and experience difficulties viewing certain content.
      3. Pop-up and Ad Blockers Disabled: Some applications, such as the UConnHuskies.TV Media Player, are launched in a separate pop-up window. You may not be able to launch these applications properly if you have a Pop-up or Ad Blocker enabled.

  3. Flash Player Requirements

    The UConnHuskies.TV Media Player is built on Adobe Flash Player and requires Flash Player 10 or higher to function. For an optimal viewing experience we recommend that you install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 10.

  4. NexDef and HD Quality Picture

    If an event is streamed in HD, you may receive an HD quality picture with a UConnHuskies.TV subscription, installation of NexDef software, and an Internet connection with consistent bandwidth of at least 3Mbps. For an optimal viewing experience we recommend that you install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 10. If you do not have sufficient bandwidth (at least 3Mbps), we recommend choosing one of our lower quality streams within the Media Player.
